DASISH is pleased to announce its final conference, which will be held in Sweden at Gothenburg's School of Business 27-28 November.

The conference will take place over two days and present and discuss the results that the DASISH project's WP's have achieved during the past three years.

Swedish population registers constitute a unique resource for research. Participation in SINGS aims to develop deeper knowledge, skills and scientific and ethical approaches regarding how different sources of data and registers can and should be utilised in research, preparing for a scientific career in the area of register-based research.

The graduate school is a result of the Swedish Research Council´sinitiative in providing a national focus on register-based research, through the ”Swedish Initiative for research on Microdata in the Social and Medical sciences” (SIMSAM), website

The school is relevant for all quantitative scientific disciplines that use registers, such as epidemiology, public health, sociology, psychology, economics and demography and others. The programme includes a minimum of 12 higher education credits and will run for two years, beginning in December 2014.

10th International Digital Curation Conference

For a decade IDCC has bought together leaders and experts in digital curation and the significance of good curation to research and innovation is now well recognised across the globe. At IDCC15 we aim to assess our progess and to help identify and stimulate debate on the critical digital curation questions for the future. The 10th International Digital Curation Conference will be held from Monday 9 February to Thursday 12 February 2015 at 30 Euston Square, London. Programkommittén för Mötesplats Open Access bjuder nu in att anmäla bidrag och presentationer kring arbete med open access. Vi passar samtidigt på att avslöja våra internationella keynotes och årets fokus och tema.
På Mötesplats Open Access 2015 öppnar vi upp för samtal om olika publiceringsformer för tillgängliggörande av forskning. Vi utgår från open access av vetenskapliga artiklar och fördjupar oss i hantering av data, OA-utgivning av monografier och även nya publiceringsformer. Vad betyder open access inom olika ämnen och hur skapar man bäst förutsättningar för open access grundade i forskarnas arbete?
Open access handlar dessutom inte enbart om kommunikation mellan forskare utan minst lika mycket om kommunikation med det omgivande samhället. Forskning sprids i nya former (eller på nya sätt) och till nya målgrupper. Hur kan forskningsbibliotekens roller och funktioner utvecklas i dessa sammanhang?
Call for papers
Vi välkomnar nu ditt bidrag bland annat inom temaområdena:
·         Forskarstöd - relationen forskare-bibliotek i publiceringsprocessen
·         Spridning till andra grupper i samhället - allmänhetens förståelse av vetenskap, samverkan, medier etc.
·         Genomslag - sociala medier, altmetrics, etc.
·         Open access till data, monografier och nya publiceringsformer

Insända bidrag kommer att bedömas av programkommittén och godkända bidrag ges möjlighet att presenteras antingen ett föredrag om 20 minuter eller som en kort femminuterspresentation, kompletterad med en poster i konferensens open space-session.

Vi kan redan nu avslöja våra två första internationella gäster! Keynotes blir Caroline Edwards (University of London och Open Library of Humanities) som kommer att tala om megatidskrifter inom humaniora och Sarah Callaghan (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK, Research Data Alliance’s working group on Bibliometrics for data och Publishing Data Interest Group ) som kommer att tala om forskningsdata.
