Hard to Survey Populations

Summer program

Sample surveys are a cornerstone for producing official statistics and in research within many empirical sciences, e.g. sociology, economics, geography, psychology, and epidemiology. For several reasons sample surveys are becoming increasingly difficult to conduct. Some segments of the population are hard to sample, some are hard to find, others are hard to persuade to participate in surveys, and still others are hard to interview. This school offers a systematic look at populations and settings that make surveys hard to conduct and at methods that can be used to meet these challenges. The school is given from noon Wednesday August 26 to noon Friday August 28.
