Improve the Impact and Visibility of your Research

Published: 2015-04-01

The workshop Improve the Impact and Visibility of your Research, held the 14th and 15th May 2015 in Sheffield, UK specifically aimed at early career researchers in all discipline. It is based on the findings from the RECODE project. Registration and attendance are free.

Publicly funded researchers are increasingly requested to prepare and submit their data to open access repositories for re-use.  This workshop introduces the key aspects of making data open and through inquiry-based learning it will prepare researchers to address a range of issues they might face in making their own data open.

The event will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to open access to research data
  • How to develop data management plans
  • Identifying relevant tools, resources and data repositories
  • Introducing data preparation for open access
  • Ethical and legal issues in open access to research data

Travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed. Accommodation is available at the workshop venue.

Please send an expression of interest to Bridgette Wessels, University of Sheffield – b.wessels@sheffield.ac.uk by 10th April accompanied by a short paragraph introducing yourself, your discipline, your project/area of interest, and the types of data you work with.  Acceptance letters will be sent out on 16th April.
