International Data

SND is a member of the international organisations CESSDA, DataCiteIFDO och ICPSR. This membership gives researchers and students in Sweden access to thousands of international datasets and registers.

CESSDA is an umbrella organisation for social science data archives across Europe. Since the 1970s members have worked together to improve access to data for  researchers and students. CESSDA research and development projects and expert seminars enhance exchange of data and technologies among data organisations. Via the CESSDA catalogue (due to be relaunched in Autumn 2018), you can search for data from European data archives. The data catalogue is multilingual and data can be located by a free text search, topic, keywords, or data publisher. Data can be ordered direct from the home archive or via SND.

Established in 1962, ICPSR is an active partner in social science research and instruction throughout the world. ICPSR's unique combination of data resources, user support, and training in quantitative methods make it a vital resource for fostering inquiry and furthering the social sciences. ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction. To ensure that data resources are available to future generations of scholars, ICPSR preserves data, migrating them to new storage media as changes in technology warrant. SND is a member of ICPSR and as a result, provides Swedish researchers and students access to ICPSR’s data collection free of charge. Researchers and students affiliated with Swedish universities included in the Swedish membership can order data from SND.

Via DataCite Metadata Search you can search metadata from international data archives.
