Predator: which predator species was in the cage and being recorded day: which day of the experiment the observations were made habitat: which habitat area the count refers to. Includes walls (also roof), ground, bean plants, and barley plants counts: number of predators observed in that habitat area, in that cage, on that day ------- Notes ------- 150 aphids were added to each mesocosm on day -2. This was either 150 of one species for single species treatments, or 75 of each aphid species. Predators were added two days later on day 0. Predator populations on day 0 were 20 Bembidion, 20 O. majusculus, 10 Pardosa, or 2 C. septempunctata individuals. For treatments with only one predator species, these numbers were doubled. Final predator populations were only counted on day 8.
