Description

A random sample was chosen from the population registry among persons aged 18-80 year living in Scania the 4th of November in 1999. The sample was stratified in 60 geographic areas. In total 13715 persons answered the questionnaire, corresponding to 58,5% of the total sample (n=23,437). The questionnaire was sent via mail.

Purpose:

The aim was to chart and follow the prevalence of health risks (environmental factors as well as the individuals own lifestyle), different health status, some types of and demographic, socio-economic and psychosocial background factors.

Description

Identification key is available from Statistics Sweden for ten years after the survey. Survey forms are available from the Department of Public Health and Social sustainability, Region Skåne. For information on the reference number for ethical review of individual projects based on Public Health in Skåne 2000, queries should be made to the respective project principal investigator.
