Description
The information in the abstract is translated from the archaeological report:
Arkeologikonsult has carried out an archaeological field assessment (stage 2) at the intersection of road 34/1123, and an assessment (stage 1) along road 34 to the intersection of road 34/1050, Stora Sjögestad, Vreta kloster parish, Linköping county. The field survey proposed that a large part of the study area east of highway 34 and east of the road 1123 was disturbed by recent sand and gravel pits. The evaluation confirmed the assumption and also showed that the area south of the road 1123 was greatly disturbed by ground preparation for a pine plantation. If there were any archaeological remains within the study area east of road 34, these are destroyed by the recent activities. Original ground levels could be found on the ridge and in the farmland west of road 34. No indications of ancient remains were found, and thus Arkeologikonsult does not recommend any further archaeological measures in the study area.
