Description
The information in the abstract is translated from the archaeological report:
Due to construction of a new road on the property Götala 3:1 in Styra parish, Societas Archaeologica Upsaliensis (SAU) have performed a field evaluation of the ancient monument RAÄ 44. The aim was to determine the remnant's character and dating. Settlement features were found, several of which were connected to the use of fire. The features might be connected to the adjacent graves. Two features have been dated to the Migration Period. A cultural layer with soot, charcoal and fire cracked stones was also discovered. To the west a hearth was found outside the investigation area. To the east the remains continue towards the graves RAÄ 38 and 39, that are located outside the investigation area. The archaeological remains were delimited to the north and south. To the west they continue outside the road area, but are delimited by the railway.
