Family, work and gender roles in the ISSP 2012

Published: 2013-06-25
For the fourth time, family, work and gender roles is the theme in the International Social Survey Program (ISSP). The study includes questions concerning the distribution of housework, the balance between work and family life, household income, and attitudes to child care, parental leave and women’s employment. Some topics are new in the latest survey. This applies to, for example, the issues that concern attitudes towards single parents and same-sex parents.

Individuals aged 18-80 years, living in Sweden, have answered the Swedish part of the study. The study was conducted in 2012 and the Swedish data material is available via SND’s service Open Data. Previous studies with the same focus were conducted in 1988, 1994 and 2002.
