ESS wants to be number one on comparative data

Published: 2013-09-02
ESS (European Social Survey) has three core objectives: to produce the best comparative data in the world, to develop stable social indicators and to study changes in people's fundamental values. In October, the data from round six (2012/2013) will be finished and published on the ESS web page for analysis. No scientist has preferential rights to the material.
Accessibility and transparency is crucial for us. Although the content is research driven, we want it to be used by anyone interested, says Mikael Hjerm, Professor of Sociology at Umeå University, and responsible for the Swedish part of the study.
