Diverse data material in studies of Swedish church customs

The data series Swedish church customs offer plenty of opportunities to study church life in Sweden since the early 1960's. The material contains data on a variety of customs and ceremonies such as weddings, christenings, funerals and Christmas traditions.

- The religious customs change over time through the influence of different sources. But there is also a high degree of stability, especially
among the churches at the local level, says Anders Jarlert, director at the Lund University Church History Archive and responsible for the data collection.
