Description

The information in the abstract is translated from the archaeological report:
Arkeologikonsult was commissioned by the County Administrative Board of Östergötland to conduct a field evaluation of the property Styrstad7:40, Styrstad parish, municipality of Norrköping. Two ancient monuments were previously known within the property; RAÄ 171:1 was a burial ground about 130x30-60 meters big, consisting of 32 ancient monuments; north of the burial ground was a stone wall system with a total length of approximately 360 meters (RAÄ 127:1). The reason for the evaluation was the landowner's plans to develop parts of the property. The current development work would be located within the area of RAÄ 127:1 and on the verge of RAÄ 17:1. Arkeologikonsult´s evaluation found that the burial ground RAÄ 17:1 was significantly larger than previous registration shows and that the burial ground extended into the planned area of development. In addition, it appeared that the remains of a settlement were preserved in the fields adjacent to RAÄ 127:1 and RAÄ 17:1. The settlement was given the ID RAÄ 161. Finally, the

Finally, there was a small house foundation found in the burial ground area, but outside the planned development area. This has been given the ID RAÄ 160.
